About the Illustration

This piece is part of my Tools of the Trade series, where I celebrate the objects and equipment behind creative practices.

In this illustration, I focused on the world of photography, drawn in a retro, handmade flat lay style using Procreate.

I included:

• A classic film camera
• Rolls of film
• A photographer’s bag

These are the timeless tools that capture moments the analog way.

Style & Process

I kept the colour palette limited and leaned into retro textures to give the piece a warm, handmade feel. The flat lay format allowed me to arrange the tools neatly, while still keeping a playful, characterful look.

This was a fun study in celebrating the objects that support creativity, giving them their own spotlight through illustration.
