Photoshop Collage Experiment – Draw With Me Class

Featured Image

This illustration was created as part of a Tom Froese Draw With Me class, where I explore playful, analog-inspired digital techniques and learn new approaches to illustration.

This playful experiment was made using a Photoshop Collage Technique combined with an analogue-inspired illustration process. The tutorial began by choosing a retro advertisement — I picked a fun one featuring Chuck Norris. I then drew each part of the ad separately, as you can see below, and collaged them together in Photoshop.

To create the transparent, layered look, I used the Multiply blend mode in Photoshop. Finally, I drew in some of the finer details directly in Photoshop to complete the piece.

Altogether, I really like the wonky, imperfect analog feel of this technique — it celebrates looseness and texture while still being playful and expressive.
